Residents of Hudson Hills Manor have long whispered about a little girl who drifted through one of the apartments, opening cabinet doors, clicking the TV on in the dark, murmuring to the children who lived there. When one family finally moved out, she moved on too — right into whoever came next. Near the building's entrance, it gets stranger: glowing red orbs, black shadow figures pressing close to the walls. Stand near those first-floor units long enough, and people swear the air shifts — like something underneath is paying attention.

Hudson Hills Manor is a 64-unit subsidized apartment complex managed by the Pasco County Housing Authority, built to serve low-income families in Pasco County, Florida. On paper, it is affordable housing — routine, bureaucratic, accounted for. What the records don't account for is the rumor, circulating since at least 2005, that the ground beneath it once served as a burial site, later repurposed as a county dumpsite. Residents reportedly raised considerable objection when plans to relocate the remains surfaced. The county, naturally, kept its paperwork tidy. The land, apparently, did not.
