Built by someone who has spent a long time chasing the strange
My name is Guy Edwards, and I've spent more than 15 years investigating unexplained phenomena across almost all 50 states.
Ghosts. Cryptids. UFOs. Strange legends. Weird places. Dark roads. Old buildings. Woods that feel a little too quiet.
A lot of people know me from the Bigfoot world. I've been featured on national television three times, and I spent five years helping build the Pacific Northwest Bigfoot community through monthly Bigfoot and Beer events.
Those years taught me something important.
The phenomenon matters.
But the community matters just as much.
Because the best part of this work is not just the evidence. It is the people willing to show up, compare notes, challenge each other, tell the truth about what happened, admit what they cannot explain, and keep going anyway.
That spirit is what GoBaan is built around.
What GoBaan means
GoBaan comes from two words: “go” and “baan.” Baan is the Thai word for home.
That name is not just branding. It is the heart of the project.
Yes, GoBaan is a tool for finding haunted locations, planning investigations, logging cases, organizing evidence, following investigators, building lists, and documenting what happens in the field.
But it is also built around a deeper possibility.
Maybe some of the spirits we encounter are not just trying to scare us.
Maybe some are confused.
Maybe some are stuck.
Maybe some are reaching out.
Maybe some are trying to go home.
As a Buddhist, I carry that possibility with me. Not as something everyone has to believe. Not as a rule. Not as a lecture.
Just as an open door.
Because I know many people in this community already feel it too. We do not only investigate because we want a thrill. We investigate because we care about the places, the stories, the people who were there, and sometimes even the spirits that may still be there.
GoBaan is built for that kind of work.
Curious.
Skeptical.
Respectful.
Open-hearted.
And brave enough to wonder if ghost hunting can be more than hunting.
A home for the work we are already doing
The paranormal community is already out there doing the work.
We are walking the buildings. Recording the audio. Taking the photos. Reading the history. Debunking the noises. Comparing the stories. Sitting with the strange moments that do not fit neatly into anyone else's version of reality.
But too much of that work disappears.
It gets buried in social feeds, scattered across videos, trapped in private folders, or remembered only by the people who were there.
