This bridge is located about five miles south of Barnes on All American Road. People claim to have seen the ghostly form of a young girl wandering through the woods on the east side of this bridge. There have never been any known incidents where anybody has died on or near this bridge. What her purpose for being there is unknown. She seems lost as she wanders back and forth. She is seen often but she never makes a sound. Most sightings come just before sunrise.

Coon Creek Bridge appears in Kansas haunting directories as a rural bridge near Barnes in Washington County, Kansas. Unlike some haunted bridges with a clear tragedy attached, this legend is notable for its lack of a confirmed origin story. Public accounts consistently place the apparition near the east side of the bridge and describe sightings shortly before sunrise, but they also note that no known local death explains the young girl’s presence. It is, in the cleanest Rod Serling sense, a small Kansas crossing where the record goes quiet and folklore begins walking.
